Our history
Our name didn't actually come from a person
Instead, our name came from a very special Rocking Horse known as Albert!
We've been around for a while
Amazingly, we've been celebrating our sixth anniversary of serving the lovely people of North Kilworth and beyond.
The story of Albert
It was back in 2014 and Val was working on a house clearance. Walking into the garage, filled to the brim with boxes, she noticed a huge skip! Taking a look, Val saw what she thought was a child’s rocking chair poking out. After a bit of manoeuvring, a beautiful rocking horse became visible! He was named Albert… and when she setup the store in 2015, Val decided to name the shop after him, as he would represent all of the incredible treasures they would sell in the future.
And then began ALBERT’S ARCHIVES VINTAGE AND LOVED.
The store
The team have been selling a range of incredible products for the past six years from their expansive store, on converted farmland. Prior to moving in, the building was used for sorting eggs and was known as “The Chicken Shed”. Interestingly, the high stained glass window above the door sports a bull, cow and 5 chicks, made by the original owner of the egg sorting shed to depict him, his wife and five sons.
